In 1984, during excavations in the Istanbul Antik Hotel for the construction of the base, where the remains were found under 12 meters of a historical work. These remains of the late Roman and early Byzantine period (AD 450 to 500) were the remains of a cistern. Excavations stopped and began restoration work.
